On Monday 16th January 2023, we officially opened our doors to the stunning new Silver Cloud office in Mauritius!
Based in Moka Smart City, one of the most up and coming developments in Mauritius, we not only have an amazing base to build our team but are now perfectly placed to do more in the community; build women in tech initiatives, work with the local universities and support local schools and families.
We can now start really making a difference, which is one of our key values.
Why an office in Mauritius? Where it all began…
Most of the Silver Cloud team know how this all started, but at the office launch party, our CEO Helen shared a little anecdote of how our Mauritius journey began, all from a LinkedIn message…
On 3rd September 2021, Helen received a LinkedIn message from an HRIS Project Manager, based in Mauritius asking whether Silver Cloud had any vacancies and would consider employing in Africa.
After a bit of research, and realising that there was more to Mauritius than just a honeymoon destination, the Senior Leadership team jumped on the opportunity to learn more and by the 1st November we had our first Mauritius based employee, specialising in Dayforce!
Flexible culture
We have always been proud of the flexibility we offer at Silver Cloud and the ability to hire the best of the best without limiting ourselves to the radius of an office. As the team in Mauritius continued to grow, the need for an office for our new Silver Clouders became apparent.
Whilst our UK team prefer working from home, our Mauritius team really wanted a flexible office space to use to support their growth and help collaboration between team members, as well as to take care of practical issues such as WiFi connection. So we built them a home from home.
The lead up and the launch party
In August 2022, we opened a legal entity in Mauritius and collected the keys to our new office! Since then, a lot of hard work has been put in by the amazing contracted builders and our Silver Clouders to get the office put together.
Helen, and our finance manager Sandra, flew out to join the team in the lead up to the opening, assisting with the final week of preparations and adding the special 'Silver Cloud touches'.
On Monday 16th January, the virtual ribbon was cut and our teal haven was opened! With a delicious selection of food and drink, the team shared a lovely evening in their new space, with lots of chat, laughter, plans for the future and speeches from Helen, Bunty and Nitish (our first Mauritius employees) on behalf of the team.
Our Silver Clouders are now fully settled and making the most of their new office space. It was a different type of transformation project but as we all know, transformation is what we do best

So what’s next?
The Silver Cloud team continues to grow across the UK, Europe, Mauritius and beyond.
Our ambition is to cover every time zone across the globe so that customers can benefit from a round the clock service to help them transform their own employee experience through people technology.
