Dayforce is a powerful and comprehensive HCM platform, but like any sophisticated system, getting the most out of its features means you constantly need to be learning and tweaking it. Which is why we launched our Hello Helpdesk webinar series - to help HR and payroll professionals like you get more out of their Dayforce.  

In our latest episode, Vicky, our Dayforce Optimisation Lead and Will, our Sales Exec, looked at some of the most frequently asked questions and common post go-live challenges from Dayforce users. As with all new tech, there are often small issues at that stage, even when the implementation has gone perfectly. We call these ‘snags’ and they’re common in everything from new HCMs to new websites. In this session, Vicky and Will explored what those common snags are and what to do about them.

Entitlement and holiday balances

Tracking leave balances accurately is really important for both compliance and employee satisfaction. It also happens to be one of the areas that tends to need ‘unsnagging.’ Because it can involve manual data input, there are sometimes discrepancies between what a human calculates and what the system calculates. Vicky and Will shared best practices for ensuring balances reflect correct accruals, adjustments, and policies, reducing payroll errors and employee disputes. 

Payroll discrepancies and adjustments

Payroll teams often encounter issues with discrepancies in calculations after their new system has gone live. Most often, this is a data issue and there are plenty of ways to keep them from becoming a problem. Vicky and Will gave Hello Helpdesk attendees their best troubleshooting tips to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while minimising manual intervention. 

Adjusting employee working hours and work patterns

Let’s be honest, whether it’s shift changes, flexible schedules, or corrections to time tracking, workforce management can come with all sorts of issues. Even with powerful tools. In this session, our experts covered how to manage adjustments efficiently in Dayforce, keeping records accurate while maintaining compliance with employment laws. 

Retaining and managing key employee data

Employee records are the backbone of HR systems. Without that data, you can’t have a functioning HR platform. Far from simply missing out on employee trends, virtually all the work your team does would be affected. So getting right really matters. In the episode, Vicky and Will highlighted the best methods for maintaining key employee data, handling terminations, and ensuring seamless data retention policies to meet business and legal requirements. 

Tracking HR policies & compliance

A non-compliant business is a business waiting to fail. As HR leaders, you have the fun job of keeping that from happening. This session dived into how to track and enforce HR policies within Dayforce, helping businesses stay compliant with regulations while maintaining a smooth employee experience.
