4 simple ways HR tech can boost Employee Experience

Recently, we hosted a webinar with HiBob about treating your employees as customers and making their experience the heart of your work in HR. We had businesses of all sizes, from 10 person SMEs to global corporations with 60,000+ employees, join which drove home the idea that employee experience is a priority for all businesses. In a job market rocked by Covid, economic downturn and shifts in employee rights, keeping your existing employees happy and loyal is more important than ever. And strategic use of HR tech is one of the best ways to boost employee experience.

Here are four simple ways that technology can give your employees their best working experiences yet:

Make it self-service

Self-service HR platforms just make sense. Not only do you not have time to tackle every admin request that comes your way, but it actually makes employees happier when they don’t have to send them. It’s increasingly clear that employees value a sense of autonomy and ownership over their data and activities. A good way to provide that is by using a platform that allows them to easily view and edit their own data, access useful policies and upload important documents.

Self-led learning

Skills and learning are hot topics across all industries right now. With companies looking more at both retention and getting the most out of their workforce, upskilling has become more important. Development opportunities have also become a key factor in attracting and keeping employees. To really take it one step further and make learning part of the overall employee experience, having technology in place that gives them some control over their development is key. Many platforms, including HiBob, offer ways to make learning self-led and empowering to employees.

Comprehensive feed

All-in-one HR tech platforms can offer a single experience feed, limiting the number of places an employee has to sign into or check on a regular basis. Instead, they can see everything from their holiday to recognition all in one comprehensive feed. This makes it much easier for employees to find anything they need and makes them more likely to engage with the platform’s full features.

Data-driven employee insights

One of the best things that technology can do to boost the employee experience is to make use of your data. Businesses are full of rich people data, but most aren’t getting everything they can out of it. This is where having the right technology in place can really help. Many modern HR platforms have built-in data analytics which can help you uncover insights about your employees as a whole. Some even have AI components now, making it easier than ever to gather useful information.

Employee experience is an increasingly important part of achieving strategic HR goals, like reducing turnover, growing headcount and managing people costs. By getting the right tech in place and setting it up to focus on self-service, letting employees direct their development, bringing everything into one place and using data to guide employee growth and interactions, you’ll be able to provide a powerful employee experience. This will keep your team happy, engaged and more likely to stick with your company long term.
